Thanks Don
You will need sensors on the 19s but I’m not sure swapping from the 20s is the way to go. This will require the tyres coming off both sets of rims each time you swap them. This costs £10 per wheel at my local shop, so wouldn’t take long to cover the cost of the extra sensors.
Taking tyres in an off is not a good idea, and you need them on all the wheels.
The tyre value is noticeably bulkier with the sensors.AdamsX5 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 12:09 pm How can I tell if the alloys wheels with winter tyres 19 have the sensors already installed. I can’t see anything on the outside apart from wheel weights. If they have to fit sensors on do they have to take tyres off and then fit them. Can I get them from eurocarparts it only bmw sell them?
I’m sure there’s a perfectly reasonable answer, but wondering why the manufacturers have moved away from using the ABS to identify a puncture and moved to the sensors. Just seems like something else that could go wrong.
