Just got a great item delivered via eBay, 261885159535
For only £18 great vfm and a very decent quality, apparently they were sold for £45 originally but are now discontinued. Good non slip studs too
Also, i cant be the only one who struggles locating a wheel on the hub, heavy wheels, awkward lifting etc. So spotted one of these and thought I'd give it a try. Not cheap at £6.99 but will screw into the hub to position the wheel and be easily removed when a couple of bolts are in place. It has a handy allen key slot in the end too. The nut is surplus but i think its probably worth it. Its eBay again tho, 323481953860

Re: Boot mat and wheel stud HU
I have something similar that came in a pack of 2 but they don't have a thread running the full length which means the wheel can slide along it without damaging it.

Re: Boot mat and wheel stud HU
Didnt think i'd be alone with the stud arrangement and dont think ill stress over the full threading. For as often as a wheel may be slid over it it would barely scratch the paint i imagine. Cars with studs over bolts seem to fare OK too.
