Ok, me again!
I’ve only recently heard about Cermaic Coating and on the face of it, it looks good. I’ve been quoted £300 for a 12 month one, although the guy says 8-12 months, and £750 for a 5 year one, now even if I only got 3 years from the more expensive option, it would still be better value. That said, I’m thinking, for £300-£400 pounds I can buy a very good Dual Action Machine Polisher and quality polish, coating, pads etc and do it myself.
I have three cars, the X, a VW Up! And a 1971 MG BGT. The paint on the MG is rough and I expect to have it redone in the next few years, so I’m thinking I could practice on this car, and so long as it goes ok, move onto the Up! before tackling the X.
Has anyone had any experience of Ceramic Coatings and what were your thoughts? Anyone apply the coating themselves?

Re: Ceramic Coating Anyone?
Id be very skeptical any coating could last anywhere near 5 years , I was tempted by a Da polisher too as it seems to be quite safe on paint unlike a normal one which can quickly wreck an edge if you leave it too long .

Re: Ceramic Coating Anyone?
Dealers were recently offering me AUC deals to include a lifetime ceramic coating for circa £400.
Generally BMW seem to be partnered with Autoglym which I'd guess is available as a retail product.

I have Gardex on my X, excellent stuff, wash it and it looks like the day I picked it up, came with a kit to keep it up, every 3rd wash you apply it mixed in cold water and a cream, got it on bodywork, glass and leather, however I dont think the initial coat is available on the open market although the process is available at specialist locations but I haven't done much research on that, the top up products are, I also had to inform my insurance company just in case its damaged as the initial coat has to be done correctly.
