Current road speed limit sign on dash

Post by gmc15 » Wed Nov 07, 2018 2:54 pm

Does anyone know how to get the speed limit sign on the dash, it shows the speed limit of the road you are driving on? I test drove a 2015 car and this feature was on the dash but a week later I can't get the symbol up again. I think it has something to do with speed limit info, but even after reading the manual I think I have all the options ticked in the car settings but it no longer appears. Any ideas how to activate the function?

Here is a link to show the speed sign on the dash.

The ancient E53 tech in mine doesn't do that ??

Thinking logically would that be a function of the Nav System ?

The front screen camera picks up the speed limit signs.

I think......

I've got it sorted, pressing the end of the indicator stalk scrolls through options on the dash and one of them is the speed sign. Thanks anyway :)

Do you have the cameras as well? I find that a great feature with the every changing limits, temporary or not.

I think so as I have pedestrian alert and front collision warning, but I'm not sure. Is there any way of telling if it has cameras? Just got the car so still playing with it :)

You can see them if you look from the outside of the car to your rear view mirror. You see two camera's, each looking a bit to the side.

The other way to know is when you pass a temporary road sign that the speed limit changes immediately.

Great abroad as well when you change all the settings to metric, it shows the limits in km/h

I have this on my heads up display also, had to fiddle a bit with options to get it up. It works really well and I would say its bang on 95% of the time. I don't have front camera so it works from the what evers behind the mirror inside the car.

I've got the speed limit on my HUD, fantastic. I assumed the speed limits were coming from the Nav data until it was showing the correct limits on the variable bits of the M25!

There's definitely a camera behind the rear-view mirror on mine.

When it gets really clever is connecting the GPS map data to the Eco Pro settings as it then knows where the junctions are and nags about taking your foot off the loud pedal!  Still not certain whether that is a good or bad thing, but it’s clever.

Mine just nags about taking my foot off the loud pedal all the time. Most of the time I don't need a car that does that - as I have at least one passenger who does it already.
