Drivers door not opening

Post by martin33100 » Tue Nov 06, 2018 8:45 pm

Hi, the drivers side door stopped opening today so the wife had to get out the passenger side.
You can't open it from either the inside or the outside handle.
Just wondered if anyone had any advice before I try and remove the inner door trim.

Thanks in advance.

Try the emeregency key in the lock see if it will unlock manually (its inside the fob as you probably know )  :)
I tried the emergency key, it activates the central locking on the other doors but nothing on the drivers.

It won't operate the central locking on drivers door but should be able to turn the lock manually.but if the other doors are unlocking  you have probably turned it enough.
It doesn't lift the black plastic pin on the top of the door car, if you pull the inside door handle the plastic pin lifts but then drops again when you let go of the inside door handle.

Had the same problem last year. Had to remove the door card and bust the latch and replace it. Pain in the ass of a job but managed it.
Thanks for your reply, I loosened off the top section of the inner door trim tonight so I can now get to the back of the lock.
When you push the lock-unlock button you can hear something happening in the actuator but it's not lifting the pin or allowing the door to be opened by either handle.

How did you bust the latch?

I managed to open it, uncliped the inner handle cable from the actuator and pushed the actuator arm down hard with a screwdriver.
It released and so far is working ok, let's see how long it lasts.
