Wheels

Post by Dslff421 » Fri Nov 02, 2018 9:07 pm

Hi new member asking if a set of 2010 alloys would fit a 2016 x1 xdrive? Looking for a set for winter with winter tyres, found soon gumtree but don’t want to buy if they don’t fit.

Any advice would be most helpful as I’m not very mechanically minded.

Thanks

David

Hi i think the newer shape have a different centre the E84 have 5 x 120 but the new one is 5 x 112 they also run different tyres old 225/45/18 new 225/50/18 . We had a new , when they came out E84 and remember looking at F30 alloys for it as the dealer said they would fit . But read an article that the newer shape no longer fit .
Hopefully some one will back me up but will try to find the article first !

Hi wheelpcd.co.uk they are saying that the centre bore is 66.6 and 5 x 112 et51 7.5" so like I said they wont fit as the E84 are 5 x 120 , nearest size is F45/F46 but the centre bores are too small . Unfortunately BMW have cottoned on that people were interchanging their wheels with different models so have stopped it .

Thanks again

Hi Ds
You are best contacting a main dealer and asking for the wheels for your car , if it is a M sport it may have different discs so will need larger wheels as with our M sport Gran tourer the Se uses 16" and ours needs 18" .
Looked about tyres are £800 new runflats , wheels £1500 no 2nd hand ones on ebay with winters , I would say £1300 with tyres 2nd hand 2k new .
  good luck

Hi David,

I have a set of 18” wheels (style 446) complete with winter tyres that I’ve taken off my soon to be departed F15 X5. Check with your dealer if they’ll fit and then get in touch.

Thanks Sid, will maybe just put tyres on the wheels I’ve got, would be easier than finding a set of second hand wheels, thanks for all your input and advice.

Hi might be an idea what size have you got? The only other piece of advice is not to keep swopping runflats onto rims they are really only a one time tyre.
Is your car a msport version?

2 sets on ebay £995 17" from main dealer new, same set another dealer £1195 17" not sure they can courier. Best checking with your local dealer they may price match.
Good luck
