Clicking from rear driver wheel. YouTube vid inside.
My car has started to make this click noise.
Totally random and not all the time. On or off throttle, rolling, cornering can start it, but also stop it if it's clicking in a straight line. Like I said it's random and not constant.
I've had the disc off and checked shoes. All looks good and so did the drive shaft, however I still think it's the CV joint.
Anyone had this before?
Sounds exactly the same as this but not as bad.

Is coming from driver side but will check it out.

Hi
It definitely sounds rhythmical which would seem to indicate it's something that is rotating, I.e propshaft, wheel bearing / cv joint are where I would check first.
You may need to have the car jacked up and axle stands placed under in order to be able to rotate the road wheels to hear the noise.

Don't think it's the prop shaft it's not fast enough.
Be interesting to find out what it is.

Sounds like it's something catching on the brake shoes or a heat shield has fallen down on a drive. I know you checked the shoes but I heard a similar noise one time when too long a wheel bolt was fitted and was catching the brake shoes spring..wasn't an x5 though !

id guess one of the rear brake pads has snapped a backing plate tang off and whenever drivers foot is off the brake the pad is riding up direction of rotor rotation...5mm or so...gravity and impact pops the pad back into place, and its a perpetual movement...until driver touches brake pedal or car itself applies pad drying during rain...needs a set of pads likely.
