Evening all,
I had my 2011 X5 30d in to the dealer a few months back due to a humming noise which I thought was coming from the front n/s wheels. However BMW diagnosed it as a faulty diff and replaced the entire unit under warranty. But now I'm starting to notice it more. Seems louder when coming off the throttle, but that could just be because the car is quieter. Really only hear it above 40mph. Could it be a wheel bearing?
Car has done 64k miles. Appreciate your suggestions.

E70 Humming Noise
Re: E70 Humming Noise
Same problem here.. most noticable when lifting off around 50mph..
Dealer put it down to tyres... I've had no problem other than it's irritating for about 10k miles with it

Irritating is a good word for it.
I've tried a spare set of wheels and get the same noise, so it's definitely not my tyres, although they are coming to end of their life.
