X5 se and sport suspension heights

Post by Emigrant » Sun Oct 07, 2018 2:31 pm

Hello guys I've searched the web and not really found an obvious answer.
I have a 3.0d se with sport suspension and seats etc, according to the VIN check.

Looking at previous MOT the front springs have been replaced. Looking at the car the front arch gap is about 1 inch bigger than the rear.

So is there a height difference between se and sport suspension?
Has my car had SE replacement springs? Or has the rear been lowered?
Rear has standard non adjustable links. Rear works fine. Got new AMK compressor fitted.

Cheers Grant.

...and just be sure to make measurements on flat level ground as any slope makes quite a difference!

Hi thanks for the reply I will measure the gap when I get a chance.
But that only gives me one distance for each wheel.

So are the heights from se and sport the same then?

Cheers looks mine is low on the rear.
I have 20" wheels steel spring on front and rear bags, both heights should be 732mm. I have 742mm front and 705 rear. So wrong springs on front and lowered on rear  :o

Think I'll make some adjustable links for the rear and Jack it up.

You can calibrate rear suspension.

I believe there is no difference in height, as according to the brochure from 2009, option 226 (Sport suspension), which is included in option 330 (M-sport package) has no difference in ride height.

Ok thanks for clearing that up. Don't know to if to buy lowering springs or raise the rear now.

Think it will be too harsh low.

S815A Poor Road Package ?
That adds thicker Spring pads which could explain your anomaly
