My car has what I can best describe as a moulded polystyrene filler in the void between the back of the front wing and the front of the driver's door - where the hinges and door brake are. It's annoying the crap out of me because every time I open and close the door it squeaks. >:(
I can't find anything like it on ETK, and the passenger's side doesn't have it.
Until I noticed there isn't one on the passenger's side, I was going to liberally coat the squeaky one with silicon lube. Now I'm in a dilemna. Do I just rive the driver's side one out because the passenger's side doesn't have one? Or do I assume the passenger's side one is missing, go to the $tealer and order a new one, and get the silicon lube out?
TIA
Stuart.

Polystyrene part
Re: Polystyrene part
I have the part you describe on both sides of the car. Thankfully, without squeaks! I'd give the silicone lube a try.

Thank for ^^^ that. I was in the $tealers yesterday but I forgot to ask about the squeaky foam thingy, or to check any F25s they have for sale. ::)
I think I've identified the part number, and I've given the offending squeaker a liberal dowsing with PTFE lube.

Re: Polystyrene part
That'll have made it so slippery it will probably fall off now... Ah well - squeak will be gone!
