done a full engine service on the X today :D
drained all the oil, went to change the oil filter, i noticed that Stephen James gave me the wrong bloody oil filter :thumbsdown: ... so i kinda had no choice but to keep the old filter in there until i go and exchange it 2moro.

Anyway, service all done, me n matey had the car over the pit and checked everything we could think of !!!! only a few probs, but pretty big ones ! :cry: drivers side track rod end is absolutely shagged !!! :headbang: , so bad that the wheel wobbles like jelly when off the floor.. and rear subframe bushes also slaughtered :cry:
trackrod end being done 2moro, but bushes can wait !!! :oops:

Ouch!

Rear bushes will be a bit of a bug@@r won't they? Not what you want to find when you're only having a quick look. Good luck with the repairs though.

Rear bushes can be bought for around £80 and they are pretty simple to diy if you have access/loan/hire the bushing tool (Lez has the tool for hire ;)
They look awkward but are pretty straight forward if being methodical and taking time :thumbsup:
Without the tool you would have to drop the subframe.With the tool it's a doddle.

I did the rear bushes on mine a couple of weeks ago. Not really a difficult job. There's a few write-ups on the 'net if you need a walkthrough.

My bushes were totally shot, all four had split:

I bought the new bushes HERE and hired the tool from Phoenix, mainly because I'm only a few miles away so picked up / returned in person to save on the postage !

new track rod end fitted at a cost of £40 ... but problems continue !!! whilst at the garage, went to open drivers door and guess what happened ????

Yep... drivers handle gave way :(
