Hi there , I’m new to the forum, I recently bought my 3rd e53 , a 2003 4.4 prefacelift, very happy so far as the bought the car very cheap from N auction and have been trying to put some fresh life in her, so far have been cosmetic. Now starting to think about power and would a remap benefit the 4.4 litre unit? Any advice be appreciated, cheers

Re-maps do increase BHP, gets rid of any lag on acceleration and you have full power through the rev range...I have all my vehicles re-mapped inc my work van.....

I have driven a prefacelift 4.4i E53 with a performame remap and my car (same engine) had a mild remap.
Some difference albeit improvement nothing to write home about IMO.
Don't expect to see as much improvent as when remapping a turbo diesel vehicle
