cars in for the smaller service 2mo morning @ Sytners. Does it get ad blue filled in the price or is it add on ? also does I-drive reset itself once filled or does it need bmw to programme it in. Just can get it from shell garage at mo with bit of discount

Bloody Jesus… why are microfilters £170 ?? can get an oil service for £190 and same service with microfilter is £369  :'( :'(

It’s BMWs special type of activated charcoal......ultimately expensive. >:(

Where to get AdBlue®.
Drivers are encouraged to visit a BMW Centre and have an expert technician recommend the appropriate solution and then fill up the tank. The good news is that it’s more cost effective than ever before, with AdBlue® tank refills only costing £1 per litre. Clean driving costs less than you think. Just found this X5sport when doing some reading up on a bmw site.... can this be right ?? hope so

The only car (so far) that I have needed AdBlue was never filled by the Dealer as they charged about 40% more for the stuff.  I had a service pack but it wasn’t included.  No fuel station around me sell it at a pump.

It’s all made to the same spec anyway (ISO 22241-1] and is cheapest on the forecourt.  My car computer always reset itself and needed no other intervention.  Think of it as a small fuel tank just without a level gauge.  My 220Dx Owner Manual says that it resets after a couple of minutes of driving.

If buying yourself get a filler bottle with the correct valve on it (I bough a 4-litre one via Amazon but ECP sell them too) and fill that from a 10L container of AdBlue.  That way you should not have any spillage.  Don’t buy too much in advance as it has a shelf life of 12 months unopened which reduces once opened.  Keep the container in the cool and dark.  I wash the 4L one out every time and let it air dry.

Thanks X5sport for reply. My local Sytners, Nottingham have been absolutely brilliant with me so far. They said to leave it yet as it only needs 3L top up and not worth it yet and when it does you can buy 10L now for around just under £20, looks like price has dropped hell of a lot lately.  Also had service without microfilter as it only had one last year and was not pushed into having it at all and they did me a great price for service and a brand new mini cooper loaner free. Im really glad now that Stratstones Derby have messed me around as I have found Sytners to be just great

Sytner Leics told me mine needed filling. I obviously said no and looked online there and then.
Halfords were half the price of Sytner. It I don’t remember the price however.

Why worry about saving a few pence here guys?  A complete fill at Sycamore BMW is under £20 and lasts about 10,000 miles!

It’s about half that going non-dealer and it’s all the same stuff.  Why throw money away.

Much more convenient for me to make a short trip to my local petrol station versus booking the car into the dealers.

Then maybe I am lucky as the dealership is on my way home every day.

So far, depreciation approx £40k, fuel approx £7k, tyres approx £3k, Adblue approx £150 and I just turn up, ask them to do it, wait 5 mins whilst the SA fills out the paperwork, have a nice cup of coffee and a biscuit or two and on my way ten minutes later.

What’s not to love?
