2016 plate X5 Msport runner boards

Hello

My mrs has just bought a 2016 plate X5 Msport.

Her 6year old daughter has to abseil out of it.

BMW have said being an Msport we cannot add side steps or runner boards.

Can anyone point me to somewhere we can buy them, surely someone has made some which can be retrospectively fitted, hope you can help otherwise her daughter is getting the bus

Have a look at Realoem on line.  It’s a copy of the BMW Parts Database.

You’ll need the last 7 characters of your VIN as the ‘serial number’ as this pulls up the correct car.  M Sport trimmed cars are far harder to fit options to (as I am now finding out with our Gran Tourer 220dX).  I’m not entirely sure why things get difficult for this trim level.

If there are any official kits then that is where they’ll be.  If not then it’s going to be a case of trawling eBay etc to see if a copy kit has been produced.

You would need to retrofit the SE side skirts as well as the running boards. In fairness, not really sure side boards would be that helpful and certainly an expensive exercise - you could carry a small step ladder with you at all times  ) or teach the 6 year old to climb the X5
