Sorry but this is no longer for sale, I can't stand the thought of getting rid of it! It is a brilliant car, so im saving up for a LPG conversion to be done!

Andy, it's simple get a certified BRC or Prinns dealer to quote and install. Both these manufacturers provide an OEM fitment and little or no operating issues.

Arunautogas near Littlehampton have good reputation and have worked on BMW 4.4i before as qwell as RR's with same lump
I have spoken to them at some length but NOT used them. Nothing said put me off albeit they weren't cheap on 1st quote.
Google search forums and arunautogas to see discussions on various boards or alternatively take a look at lpg forums.
Testimonial for them from an alpina owner with a B10 here
Otherwise take a look here
I would always get multi quotes from reputable recommended installers & ideally for same system.
Also consider proximity for servicing and any waranty work- all well having a great deal from someone up North but not much use if you have issues later.
Must stress I am not advocating LPG or recommnending any individual installer(s). I dont have LPG I am not knowedgable re same & have not used any LPG installers.

E53 4.4 V8 For very reluctant sale!
I used autotech in Derbyshire. Very good reputation and the only Gold standard Prins installer in the north of the UK. Spoke to a previous customer and at length to the owner and was happy for them to do the work. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for IMHO. Very impressed with the install in general and would recommend them.

andym3, A quick trawl on net shows lots of discussions re LPG and BMW's. On one forum someone recommended hants auto fuels with reference to their bering a Prins guru there. If you look at the Prins site they now grade their Prins installers & specialists too.

Ive used the following company to do some work on my LPG X5. Have a look at the standard price £1399. (you could probably bring this down by another £200 if to speak to Simon).

Also check out the tidiness of the cabling on website installation photos (some companies do a untidy installation)which should give you an idea of how much pride they take in their work.
My X5 is now my 8th LPG converted car. Ive had a C class, E Class, Jeep Grand chreokee, 728i, 2x 740i. during the early days i was told that Prinns was the best conversions to get (this was in 2003 when alot of LPG systems were still single point injection conversions and Prinns was one of the only companies which did multi point. Since 2006/2007 all the systems are now multipoint and fully integrate with the cars ECU. I remember paying £2300 for prinns conversion on my BMW 728i. The year after I changed to the BMW 740 and paid £1300 for the OMVL conversion and did not noticed any difference at all. Since then I have had another 2 cars with different modern multipoint conversions and no difference at all between the systems. Reliability wise there is no difference as well. I have had Pinns, OMVL, Oscar, Zavoli and Romoro.
There is also software available for some systems which you can use to tune/calibrate your lpg systems (quite easy to use just hook up to a laptop) and you can update the firmware for the LPG ECU as well. OMVL and Zavoli are good for this and dealers would charge you £80 to do this.

what benefit would you get from tuning LPG ECU? How easy is it to upgrade the BRC firmware?
