Very nice and the wheels work very well

I’m sure I stumbled across a pair & the believe we’re they only fitted the SE models due to none staggered fitment
How wrong was that believe - An opportunity missed!

I have this style wheels, style no 336.

They are staggered as the rears are wider than the front.

They are the best looking IMO even better than the M-sport wheels.

can someone tell me more about the implications of have staggered set up please...is it simply that the rear wheels/tyres are wider than the fronts...in which case, no stranger to this from my other car...or is there more to be aware of with the X5?

Mine is a 2007 E70 with third row seating and in turn the rear suspension is uprated.  In relation to your query, the wider rear tyres  have a higher load rating - 111 on mine compared to the fronts - 107. (Mine are 285 x 45 x 19 x111V on the rears and 255 x 50 x 19 x 107V on the fronts).  The reason - to handle the extra weight if all seven seats are used and there is luggage in the back as well.
