I wander if it’s something specific that caught their eyes to be sold or broken for parts
E70 are knocking on a bit and getting old and so surprised

I was paranoid when I had a hot hatch which was in the top list of being stolen

It was a 2007, 11 years old lol 3.0D with pano roof, was lovely lol

Ive always kept my spare in a safe which blocks any signal and the key I use always goes in a tin lined with lead...again signal blocked, there was an email circulating early last year from a police force in southern England highlighting this sort of theft.....

Many moons ago I had a full stereo upgrade in my Escort rs turbo and one of the fitters was copying keys then going back to vehicles and stripping them the barsteward.Hope you get sorted pal and the feckers get caught.

I find the best option is to insure the car, and take out a gap insurance policy. If someone nicks the car, I’ll get another, but I’m buggered if I’m going to have someone enter my house looking for the keys in the middle of the night. It’s just a car.
