Cic IDrive

Post by Mr black » Thu May 03, 2018 10:15 am

Hi When did cic IDrive come in and how to recognise it?
Is it just a menu button near the IDrive knob ccc and multiple buttons for cic.
Loads to ask as I’ve loads to learn.

Thanks

I think they changed over in Q4 2009 in the factory, although you have to bear in mind the registration date will always trail the build date. I don't think I've seen CIC on anything with a 59 plate.

If you're just looking at photos, the best way to identify CIC is the shortcut buttons surrounding the iDrive knob. The user interface itself is very different, but obviously you'd have to be sitting in the car (or there be photos of it switched on) to see that.

Thank you for that I’ve just been looking on autotrader.

It was right at the end of 2009, but all 2010 LCI cars are CIC equipped.  It has many more buttons on the controller than the CCC system.
:ant: Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
