2005 X3 E83 2.0d DSC fault code

Hi,

I'm down to one last fault code on my car. the error code is 005F1E and it appears to be something to do with the dynamic stability control.

The fault explanation (from Carly) is "disabled trailer roll logic about EEPROM: variant coding: info entry"

Does anyone have any idea what this means, or what the problem could be? There are no warning lights and the car drives fine.

Have you got a towbar?  It could be the additional functionality that turns on when a trailer is plugged in as the trailer changes how the DSC works.

Would not having the towing module fitted and a trailer being plugged in.
Just thinking somebody might have done a DIY job fitting a tow bar and not fitting one.
Could well be miles off but just a thought.

I fitted a Westfalia E83 dedicated tow bar electrics to my old E83, only the dedicated kit has a green wire that runs up to a module at the rear of the dash, It syncs with the DSC and prevents the rear parking sensors from working when a trailer is coupled to the car
Has it got a tow bar fitted.
If so check if it has a wire from the trailer electrics box, sited near the battery in the boot.

Perhaps it's not been wired correctly for Trailer Stability Control

Thanks for the replies,

The car doesn't have a tow bar fitted, not sure if it has had one in the past.

I did read on another site that someone had the same code fault and was advised that it was the ABS speed sensors. I plugged a Foxwell code reader into it yesterday evening as they can read the live ABS speed sensor data, they all appeared fine. The interesting thing was I ran the diagnostics and it showed no faults!

So Carly shows a fault and Foxwell doesn't, I'd rather believe the Foxwell reader as it means I've got nothing to fix lol. As I've got no warning lights on the dash maybe that's the case.
