Post by sid10 » Fri Apr 27, 2018 7:29 pm

Woke up this morning with an idea to sell the X5 , 6 hours later the car is sold and going on Monday !
Had it for 12 years , been a great car .
Now need to sell all the things I have collected for it over them 12 years .
Look in the for sale section .

I have been toying with the idea a while , one of my sons becomes 17 shortly and I can't get him to learn to drive in the Porsche or the wife's car as hers is an auto and the Porsche is too high a group , I have looked at a few alternatives which have all resulted in low ball offers by dealers .
So came up with the idea that if it went first I wouldn't have 4 cars to tax and insure , it will be missed as I have had it all over the UK and France doing over 85k in the car over the last 12 years , it has never missed a beat and returned 28mpg over that time which I think is amazing as for the last 10 years it has been pulling a twin axle caravan all over the country as well . We got rid of the caravan last year and replaced the wife's car for a new one , the Porsche came along 6 weeks ago and the X5 hasn't been used much .
It is a great car and one day I may buy a F15 model but for now need something a lot less too insure for my son .

Wow Sid congrats on the sale....there is no doubting the E53s are solid at what they do which is why it makes it so difficult to take the decision to sell

Whe did you advertise it in the end and how much did you get if you don't mind me asking? (pm if your prefer)

I'm sure our X5 is quite similiar to yours and I'm edging closer to that period of changing it. I've been saying that for the last 2 years but still not ended up selling but the calling of a F15 is getting stronger and stronger!!
