Re: Calipers
I've had the alloys powdercoated gloss black on my sapphire black 40D, along with privacy glass. I'm deliberating painting my calipers as they look tired, I really like that electric blue but I'm not sure how they would look on a fully blacked out X5.
What are people's opinions? Electric blue or alternative colour like Matt silver etc?

I did mine electric Blue as they are the same colour as the stock M Performance brakes.
I would say go for it as it would look good against the black alloys.
Never liked yellow as they stand out to much.
Personal choice at the end of the day.

Good point, I've decided to go along the electric pearl blue. I have a decent trolley jack but it is only rated to 2 tonnes, I'm in no rush so will do one wheel off at a time. Will my trolley jack suffice for the job do we think as I see that most use a 3 tonne jack?

Re: Calipers
For one corner at a time yes, but maybe not for an end or complete side. I would want extra protection such as axle stands as well as a beefier jack. You will be holding half the weight on one point so in theory it should be OK, but personally I would be a bit wary.
Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

Yes it's not an ideal situation but I only intend on jacking one wheel up at a time, leaving the other 3 in contact with the deck.

Re: Calipers
I used a 3T trolley jack and 2T normal jack with no problem to do two wheels at a time.
So a 2T trolley jack should be fine.
Good luck!
