Non-Staggered Winter Setup 285/40/20

Post by Dogzyboy » Fri Apr 20, 2018 11:31 am

Hi all,

Is it ok to run a non-staggered winter setup with all corners being 284/40/R20? (Next winter of course!)  Current summer setup is staggered.

Cheers,
Doug

Should be perfectly fine, the problem is always different diametre front and rear which messes up the transfer box, which a non-staggered set avoids.

Only thing is that the staggered set up uses different off-set and width front and rear wheels, so don’t know if you are going to use existing wheels, or a specific set of wheels that has the same width but different off-set?

Check on Realoem for winter options, but the standard BMW winter options on other X models are non-staggered.

You should be fine as a result.  :)

Thanks guys.

Wheel sizes are as follows:

Fronts

Width - 10J
Offset – IS40
Part Number - 36112284654

Rears

Width – 10.5J
Offset - IS32
Part Number – 36112284655

Sounds like these should be fine then.  :)

Hi you need to check the PCD on the wheels if they are 611M winter square set up from the X5M , I read they used a different set up back to front like the X6 E71 74.1 fronts ,  72.6 rears . Could be a costly mistake !
The latest X5 run 74.1 all round , just like the E70 .
