Surely the eaiest way has to speak to the dealer you bought the car from to get a full breakdown of the spec from new, asumming it came from a main dealer. If note ring your local dealer, giving them the last 7 digits/letters and they will hopefully give up the breakdown. If you did buy from a main dealer and there was no mention of an upgrade on the AUC site or the dealer did not mention an upgrade then it will more than likely be standard.

It's probably possible to check if you have the standard, business or professional/individual by looking at how many speakers there are. Standard is 6, business is 12, professional and individual have 16 (so not sure how to tell difference physically there). Remember that there may be subs under the front seats. If you can go back to the dealer as Chompers suggests, would probably be the most definitive solution.

Best take the last 7 digits of the VIN (or reg) to a dealer (parts dept), they should be able to provide a print out of all options built into the vehicle at time of manufacture. :driving:

Cheers Guys, I will speak to the local dealer. Yes i got it from a main dealer. I forgot to ask him. One of the reasons for my doubt is becuase of the system being so much better than my z4m which is 2006/06 and has stdsystem on it.

I suspect you've got the professional or individual in that case, unless the Z4m system is really bad! The feedback I've had is that the base X5 system is a bit of a shocker, the business is better but still not great, whereas the professional is excellent and individual better still ... I was surprised to learn that their sound systems aren't better but I guess they've learnt how to milk us to the max ...

All options that were fitted to a BMW from new are always stated in the POS spec sheet at dealers and on the BMW AUC SITE. I would find it strange if the sales guy had not told you if had an upgraded system.
