2017 X5 - M50d

Hi all, possibly purchasing an X5 this week. Spec wise what I can see it has,

Harmon / Kardon
Black / Ivory interior extended to lower dash
Digital cockpit
Polished 21” wheels
Pan roof
HUD

Car only has 1,000 miles on the clock and the owners asking £50,000. In the opinion of current owners - in the next 6 months or so is the car set to depreciate a lot?

Also I know the first service isn’t due till 18,000 but is it time based as well - EG once a year ?

That’s a very good price, as the car would have cost over £75k when new. At that saving, I wouldn’t worry too much about depreciation, as it’s taken it’s biggest hit so far.

I thought price was fair too, steering wheel seems to be off Centre so I’ve asked the owner to have the wheel alignment checked and adjusted. Once I do a vin check I’ll know what options it has for sure.

A question about the servicing - I think the first one is due around 18,000 miles. Is this just mileage based or also time as well?

As posted elsewhere, the discounts on new M50ds are at the 22% mark. I achieved something like that when I bought mine a year ago.
Therefore, if the list was £75k then they could have paid 58.5k for it. Therefore the depreciation at 50k  over 1 year is looking like 15%. That seems rather a good result for them to me.

Apart from that, there will be a new X5 out this year, so "old" model will presumably take a bump downwards?

Most likely it will take a hit once the new model arrives but a 75K car for 50K seems good enough to me - always wanted a new car but could never live with the depreciation..

Totally agree - I'm saying the big hit was taken by BMW right at the outset.
