F85 X5M

Post by pvr » Sun Apr 15, 2018 5:04 pm

The beast has landed. Great to drive, not so sure about the 6 mpg so far though  :'(

It has a lot more toys than the E70, and I have the sunroof again on this one (last time on the E53).

The heads up is good, the surround cameras very good as well (strangely enough I preferred the E70 surround cameras though). The finish with the alacantara roof is much nicer than on the E70, leather door cards give a nice touch to the finish.

Looks stunning. I wonder why BMW fit front fog lights to this, when all the other M cars don’t have them?

On my other M, the fog lights were in the place where on the M the air ducts were to cool the brakes. On the X5, the lights do not block anything so I guess there would be no benefit in deleting them.

Would be easier if they were not there though as I never know which button is for the front or the rear fog lights  :))

Hi

Congrats on getting the X5M, and it looks good in the Donnington Grey and can I ask what colour interior did you go for in the end?

Also re the fuel consumption very similar to mine whilst it was being started and stopped and the odd short mile journey whilst in the garage the last few weeks.

The consumption will be better on a run esp with the 8 speed box, but you will have restrain your right foot  :))

Hi

That's a good colour combination as it lifts the interior as a lot have of them have black and it's a bit somber.

I agree the alcantara headlining is a nice touch on the car as is the full leather option which many people don't opt for but to me it makes the car more individual, not that an X5M isn't
