Folks, I’m in talk with a non franchise dealer about a 2012 30d I have seen for sale. There are a few things niggling at me, but it’s such good value I’m tempted to go for it anyway. I just thought I would get the opinions of owners here.
It’s had 4 owners, which usually puts me off but I usually only keep my cars for a year or so, so it could just have had people own it of a similar mindeset to myself.
It’s had 4 stamps at bmw, including 2 oil services at 16k and 29k, the 29k was in April 16, so pretty much right for the 2 year/20k intervals. However the next oil service was done at 52k in Sept 17 at a non franchise chain of dealers. That’s 23k between 2 services, in 17 months. What are people’s opinions on that? My thought processes is that the engine got off to a good start on life at BMW, so really 23k should be ok. I’d get my bmw specialist to change it as soon as I get it anyway. Would it really affect the longevity of the engine, or even resale?
That car is such a good spec and price, hence my quandary!

Re: Service History Advice
Two years apart and 23k isn't completely unknown for condition based service if the car wasn’t being driven hard.

As above
Not unheard of and not mega miles
Interval service with someone doing motorway miles in those months seems fine

Cheers folks. Sadly I deliberated over it too long and in the interim it sold. Someone got a bargain! I should’ve put this post up yesterday morning when it appeared!
