Radio noise!! HELP!!

Post by Beanmasteruk » Fri Mar 16, 2018 3:34 pm

Ok, just spent nearly a grand on new turbo because of whistle in cab! Still whistling!! Took radio fuse out, fuse 73 in the boot compartment, and noise or whistle stops!! Could I fit a cheap suppressor to eliminate this, anyone know?

No personal experience but when I was reading a lot of stereo stuff I remember the whistling or screeching as it was described was a common fault with the BM54 amp in the boot, you can send them off for repair to cartronics or similar places.
If it’s an aftermarket stereo, I don’t know!

Thank you. I’m expecting this to be the source of the problem then. It’s just a irritating low pitch whistle and when I take fuse out it stops, but no radio. Nav and tv still work though

Depends upon your audio fit at build.

That’s me out of ideas then, I thought if you had the nav/tv etc then you had a BM54 amp in the boot

You should have a separate amp if that’s the case.  Have you got DSP as well?
