Ferric grey mirrors

Post by Rassi » Fri Mar 09, 2018 7:50 am

My (new to me) X5 M50D in space grey does not have the ferric grey mirror covers. The first owner also went for full debadging, but was the mirrors in the body colour an option on the X5 M50D? As it is space grey, I don't really mind it, as the two shades of grey  ::) may clash somewhat. But anyone else had a delete of the ferric grey mirror covers?

If you're car is grey you'll almost certainly have the 50D mirrors you just can;t see the fact you do they are such a close colour match.

As far as I'm aware they are not a delete option.

Somebody changed them over as the originals might have damage on them.
Salesman could had them swapped.

Are your mirrors 2 tone - ie is the bottom half black?

My M50d is Carbon black and I don't like the mis-matched mirrors at all... but I don't dislike it enough to pay money to get them changed!

I will have another look tonight, but it may be as you suggest that the colour match between space grey and ferric grey is very close).

It's close enough to look very similar!

I didn’t think mine were ferric grey, on my space grey car, then the sun came out and all was revealed!

Indeed, had a closer look in different light settings and the mirror covers are ferric grey but not that obvious against the space grey. Thanks for clarifying!

Glad it’s not just me then. At least you didn’t go so far as to email your dealer, like I did!  :))
