Please can anyone help before I go insane. I picked up my e70 yesterday and I am trying to hardwire my dash cam. What a nightmare, can find a fuse in the front fuse box that comes on with the ignition. I read loads of posts and they spoke of the e70 powers down after 10 or 20 mins and I should be able to locate a fuse. Well when I locked the car with me in it all that happened was the alarm went off.... Does anyone know off hand which fuse I can use .......please
Thanks in advance

Re: Hard wire dash cam help needed please
I ended up hardwiring mine to the back of the front 12V accessory connector. You need to remove the trim above the pedals and that allows access to the screws holding the right side tunnel trim which slides forward and out. BMW told me that was the point they use for a switched live. More of a faff than the fusebox I agree.

Re: Hard wire dash cam help needed please
Thanks for replying ive never ever known a fuse box like it. Most were live all the time and some fuses didn't show even when the car was started which worried me slightly. Hopefully I will have another go tomorrow.
Cheers pal

Put the car on a charger whilst chasing fuses too. The ignition on state will eat battery power at a frightening rate!

In my e53 i took a 12v feed from the light above the mirror that one is ignition switched.
I took the roof light out and fitted the power module thing in the roof if you get what i am saying.

I ran the permanent live for the Blackvue power magic straight from the battery in the boot (via a 3 amp fuse).
The switched live I took from the back of the cigarette lighter socket in the boot as its got real easy access.
Hope you get it sorted

As Alan says go into the roof void where the front interior light is (adjacent to front interior mirror.
You will pick up a live there ( use a multimeter).
I did a ''how to to'' several years ago so check my posts.

Thanks for the replies. Didn't have time today unfortunately but hopefully I will get it sorted before the weekend.
