Sure that will help when the first big kerb appears
It's still higher than most cars - quite an old pic. Used it when I did my pan (or dustbin lid as some on here like to call it)! :x

If your dull enough to drive into kerbs then that succa aint gonna help anyway being made of plastic.

Great post Paul  and looks good  toyed with this a long time ago after seeing the very same pic of that silver x on x5world but i was unsure how it would work with a black car so never did.
So then i kept telling Sanj how good his would look being a different colour untill he did his :D

I have seen a black x with one painted silver on and it looks pretty good but still not convinced enough to pay that much for a piece of plastic though!

There is a company on ebaymotors that wil deliver from the usa for about $70 on top of the price of the skid plate if i can find the link i will post it up again.

Very true, but the owner having lowered the car AND being stateside, who knows what may happen.

The crowd i sourced it from sent it for $50 - which was the cheapest of all the quotes i got - just a pity customs got hold of it :(

The tightwad in me says many fibreglass clones for UK users could be made of one if we had one as a mould plug :D

Is that even allowed :?

I thought the exact same - the bit is quite heavy duty and seems good quality but was talking to a work colleague who used to work as a fiberglass moulder - he reckoned they made moulds form all the motorbike fairings they could get their hands on - then sold cheaper fiberglass copies - reckons made a fortune doing this. This is such a simple piece compared to a bike fairing so surely would be easily done.
Googleing the 'skid plate' throws up lots of Chinese companies offering the skid plate - as long as you want a container load made :D
