Driving in sport mode

Post by Fireblade1 » Mon Feb 05, 2018 8:00 pm

Really like the extra boost it gives, is there any downside to driving in sport all the time?

Apart from fuel economy and reduced service intervals, probably not.

If yours is anything like mine though, you need to be making considerable progress to get above 5th or 6th  :D

Sport mode will keep you in much lower gears if within the speed limits.  Never fully tested the X6 but certainly my X5 only dropped into 6th above 100mph around a test track.  If the 8sp box is the same then you might still have a couple of cogs left to use at that speed.

Silly question perhaps.  Is sport mode exclusive to the M-Sport or an added option?  and not available on the SE?

**Assume you refer to manual, was checking if there was a super duper sport button :o)**

It's on the SE too. Push the stick to the left. Moves it to Sport/Manual mode.
The is also another optional "Sport mode" located just behind the gear stick. This for Adaptive Drive suspension mode. Picture here: Image
