Hi, are 08 3.0d E70 X5 is getting near 170k and even though the engine and box is great the rest of the car is starting to show its age.
Our boys are now in normal booster seats so the smaller X3 is probably the way to go.
We would probably buy the later 14 plate on facelift, are the Msport cars a hard ride without the adaptive dampers?, our E70 with normal sports suspension probably has the hardest ride of all the BMW's we have owned.
Also has anyone gone from a E70 X5 to the 2.0 X3 and found the power adequate?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Can't comment on the power as i came from a 2005 530d M Sport to the X30d M Sport, other than it's quicker than the E60, and gives better economy (around 36mpg combined for Central London and motorways).
The LCi 2.0d is reported as being more refined than the older unit, but no personal experience of it.
Best bet would be to go drive the 2.0 and 3.0 versions.

Never found one with adaptive suspension in all the months i searched for the right car. Found the ride jiggly on poor surfaces with 19" rft's.
Changed to normal tyres and she rides really well.
Stayed with rft's for the winter 17" set and the greater sidewall ensures a comfy ride.
F25 x30d M Sport Lci. Prof Media/Nav, adaptive xenons,ext storage,lights package, 19" Staggered 622M alloys.
