X3 35d M sport
X3 35d M sport
So this week I've had this courtesy car whilst my car was at the dealers having some warranty work done to it - should have been 2 days work but now into the forth day >:(
Saying that I have quite enjoyed driving this brand new X3 around with its pokey 3 litre engine it's quite a quick SUV bearing in mind its size.
Overall the car is no way better than the X5, interior is nice but not as luxurious as the X5. Space wise it feels a lot smaller - driving position lower and less leg room.
But the engine is smooth and does not sound like a diesel and for this size vehicle, handles extremely well and effortless.
The one I have is £51k new and I'm not sure I would pay that amount of money for a mid size SUV.
My wife has a MB 250 GLC and I would say the X3 is a better handling car than her MB, however the interior is not as good as the MB. Would I pay the extra £10k for the X3 even though it has a slightly bigger engine than the MB - each has their pros and cons?

Re: X3 35d M sport
I sat in one at my dealer the other day, and it felt quite cheap compared to my X5. And much smaller inside. I nearly ordered an M40i, but am glad I didn’t now.
Re: X3 35d M sport
Interesting to hear the comparison as I was thinking the new x3 might be a step up from the current x5. I’m pretty glad it’s not though!

There’s absolutely no way it’s a step up!

Re: X3 35d M sport
Interior quality of materials definitely not X5 standard.
X5 has a more aggressive look but as I say the 35d engine in the X3 is sleek and has more than enough power for this size SUV.
There can't be much in it on price between the X3 and X5 35d if the one I have is £51k?

Re: X3 35d M sport
Base X5 is £48k. The new G01 X3 is longer and wider than the original E53 but doesn’t have the interior trim level of the X5 and X6 (as you would expect) otherwise everyone would be buying them instead
Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
Re: X3 35d M sport
My beast >:D returned home tonight and was I pleased to see it after not driving it for four days.
It was definitely an interesting few days having the X3 but more than pleased I have the M50d:)

Missing anything from the X3 now you’re back in your X5?

I’ve been trying to register on the other one for nearly a week. No email to activate the account, and the mods haven’t replied to my email.
