Removing door trims

Does or has anyone ever pulled the door trims or know how these are fixed to the doors?
I’m thinking of removing prior to the polishing routine?

I need to go over mine with a polisher but the bmw black paint is so hard !

[/quote]Most slide on from previous 3 series E46 jiggery poker. Imagine the same on X's.
As a suggestion, why not mask them off before polishing commences?

Answering my own question
I done some rummaging around the inter web tonight, seems they are glued on with double sided tape, no locating pins, very brittle and normally break on removing........
Dahm!

Anyways, the reason for removal was after last polishing ritual, it took forever removing the residue in the gaps, though no tape was used as the trims were polished with a 2” pad, better borrow the child’s cotton buds again....

Just soak the trims with panel wipe or a solvent then the trims will come off easy. Make sure you shut tin foil in the door shut over the sill so you don’t melt the grip tape on the skirts.
