Hi
Just had the lady into the stealer today. Due to the reverse camera going green screen/black lines.
They state the rear camera has gone faulty.
They state it’s due to water ingress and not covered under warranty.
Has anybody else suffered with this and if so what remedy did they find?
A reverse camera for mine is over £500 and the picture is dreadful even when fully working! Can’t find a second hand one either so I may look into other options to get it back working again.
Maybe a aftermarket compatible camera?

2009 rear camera gone green
Re: 2009 rear camera gone green
It shouldn’t get water in it......I would claim warranty or want a really good reason why a device sealed against water, leaked and let water in and then wasn’t covered!
Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
Re: 2009 rear camera gone green
Have they opened it up to check that it has water damage?
If it was me I think I would take all the trim off and remove the camera and give the connections a clean and refit. It will only cost you a bit of your time and possibly even fix it.

Strange as it may seems, mine [2012 40D] has just pinged up on the screen" faulty rear camera", BUT ,, its still working. Either it doesnt like frost, as its only happened since its got frosty, or something else... ::)

Mine seems to have happened whilst visiting aviemore in Scotland
It dropped to -7.5 a few times and the camera hasn’t worked since.
