Have a look at Realoem for the part number that matches your build (last 7 of your VIN will pull up the right car version) and see what’s available.

It fits in the left rear cubby but the preparation will need to have been done at build or there is likely to be no wiring in place.  BMW stopped pre-fitting standard looms years ago now so you may have to run it in first.  :(

I have no multi-changer in the X6 but ordered the car with the preparation kit so that the changer could be added later if needed as the connections would be behind the glovebox (this is where the E70/71 unit is located).

I have the USB interface in my E93, and just the 6 cd changer in my X3 E83.
I much prefer the USB interface.
You can transfer hundreds of albums onto an IPod or old IPhone and pick what you want via the IDrive, just get a £9 lead ( USB +phono to 30 pin iPhone/iPod lead and away you go. )
Just find a 9 year old to sort it , I did

I have a F25 also. Don’t bother with installing a 6 CD autochanger. Get a 16GB USB stick, format it and literally add 100’s of songs into playlists or genre. Then plug it into the centre console. Now control it from iDrive. Happy listening
