OEM brake pad manufacturers?
OEM brake pad manufacturers?
Hi folks
Just been quoted £406 to change my rear brake pads :'(
That was from BMW Peter Vardy in Edinburgh. I then got a quote of £145 from National tyres using Delphi pads, never heard of them! But a much more realistic price for what amounts to an hour's work at most ! The car is a 16 plate so obviously want to keep the warranty valid so was going to purchase OEM pads and get National tyres to fit them. Only problem is I've no idea who manufacture the OEM pads!
Anyone here got any ideas ?
Thanks in advance

Re: OEM brake pad manufacturers?
Cheers for that Horizon, I know Pagid quite well in that they are good quality at a reasonable price. I just hadn't realised that they were OEM. Good news in that they are substantially cheaper. £406- £145 is a no brainer really!
Re: OEM brake pad manufacturers?
How many miles have you done in a max of 24 months to wear rear brake pads out?.

Pretty much every Friday, Saturday and Sunday I get an email with at least 50% off parts.
I might start hoarding them now as you just know when I need them I won't get the discount )

The BMW X range brake heavier on the rear to stop the vehicle lurching forward under braking. Mine were changed at 23,000 miles , at the 3 year warranty check.

Re: OEM brake pad manufacturers?
Perfect thread for me. Just took my x3 in for a service and they advised me that my front pads and discs were low.
Do pagid and textar also supply the discs? I was quote £460.

Re: OEM brake pad manufacturers?
Cheers. Comes up as £300 on eurocarparts but they have 50% sale so £150 isn't bad at all.
Ok last question, I assume the pads come with sensors so nothing additional to purchase.

Re: OEM brake pad manufacturers?
No. You need to buy the sensor separately.
Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
