It didn't in my case as the vehicle was UK spec. Other imports may have to pass a VOSA exam and get an MOT and then are good to go. You just need to declare which market it was built for. If it's RHD I can't see why it woud be an issue, but different insurers work in different ways.

just spoken to my insurance but they couldn't tell me anymore because no details came up when i quoted the reg
