Thanks theweeb
Everything went very easy today, in what seemed no time at all the plastic was off and I could get to the air filter the breather and the EGR.
all the work was done in about two hours

Can someone post part numbers for the breather for a facelift x5. I know there is a separate thread but it would be really helpful being included here... Especially while I'm at work and on my iphone

Excellent article - many thanks! Used it to change the air filter on my 2005 E53 3.0D today. Followed these instructions step by step - and no problems at all. Even the bolt at the very back came out/went in without problem. Also changed the breather assembly using Bazzyboys article. So - an afternoon well spent and hopefully the X is feeling better cared for now.....
