Re: Wheel bearing
Don't think so.
Changed one or two in my time and if it was that one i would just fit it.

Re: Wheel bearing
front wheel?, bearing must go in the right way around as its fitted with an exciter ring to activate the abs, be aware of cheap bearings of fleabay etc
Re: Wheel bearing
If that's the case how does one know, surely if there was a right way round there would be an arrow/instructions

Re: Wheel bearing
I hate it when one person responds on a forum saying it do this way and someone else responds saying do it that way. The forum should be a place of advice where the integrity of the advice is beyond reproach. One of the posters is wrong.
There is a right way to fit them or there isn't. As Henry says if they were directional, which would tell you which way to fit them, it would (probably) be marked
Ask the supplier you bought them from.

Re: Wheel bearing
i had two bearings, one off ebay and another from euro car parts, both had no exciter ring built in apparently (they must have been made in china), i ended up taking it to main dealer as i could'nt fathom out what was happening { abs light and a dsc light on).
so i purchased a bearing from my local bmw dealer when i collected the bearing the workshop foreman marked which side went in first, could'nt see any difference in either side, hey presto like new
