Help for newbie bm54 !!!

Hi all I hope you can help me , I just brought a 2003 3.0d sport and I have no radio or sat nav or tape , I've removed the bm54 and it looks goosed but none of the batteries work on the left side of the head unit ( I have the wide-screen unit) and don't know what's best for I buy another bm54 and risk it or buy an aftermarket unit ? I don't want to spend £150+ on a bm54 to find the head unit don't work !! Any advice gladly received thank you !

Look up Baris at Cartronics, he overhauls and upgrades BM54 units. Maybe phone them to see if you can send it to them for testing

Thank you for that I did complete the enquiry form on there website but have not received the return call yet ! I think mines knackered, I've attached a photo

[/quote]The BM54 doesn't have any pixels it's the amp and it's under the floor in the boot area.

If yours was the non satnav factory spec X5, you may be talking about the indash single slot CD / MID unit, which has the radio module built into it.
The OP has the BM54 radio unit which is in the boot near to the Battery.
