Dynamic Drive - Do You Use It?
Dynamic Drive - Do You Use It?
Just reading up on Dynamic Drive and watched a very informative video on You Tube it. I am intrigued by those that have it how often, if at all you use it?
Is it something that every journey you get in, start the car and automatically switch it on, or do you only use it if fully loaded with passengers or is it just a gimmick you never use?

Re: Dynamic Drive - Do You Use It?
Hi
I have it on my car and use it when driving a bit faster or cross country or on a long journey that way it's there behind the scenes when you need it, but it is lees necessary on a motorway. From what I understand it controls the body roll of the car by hydraulicly adjusting the anti roll bars.
Since my car also has the added adaptive drive it also adjusts the suspension which I find is useful and also helps to firm it up. But I rarely use it in and around towns as speed is slow by comparison, but like a lot of feature it's useful to have.
But it's like the head up display which is useful and you end up relying on it but don't really notice it's there unless you go back and drive the same road with dynamic drive it switched off.

Re: Dynamic Drive - Do You Use It?
Thanks for the insight, I just wondered how often people used it or if it was a case of once the novelty wore off it was forgotten about. From what I have read in other threads it does a very good job and is quite a clever system so credit where credit is due.
I might do exactly what you suggested and drive a familiar road with it both on and off to see the difference. Assuming it's an oil filled system - is it sealed or does it have its own inspection/service schedule?

If it is similar to other systems then it uses a magnetic fluid which is ‘stiffened’ by changing an electric current level and that modifies how the particles line up - or don’t

Shorter than you think.
Just note than when I ordered my E53 in 2004, the waiting time was 10 months....

You my friend need a medal, I read about people that endure long waits for new cars etc. and it would just drive me insane!!!! I would be one of those people (lottery win obviously!) that paid over list for someone that had a stock car rather than wait!!!!! :'(

Patiently waiting - I remember my Dad ordering a Morris Minor in 1952. He got a letter in 1955 ( few people had phones in those days) saying it had arrived - all the way from Cowley to Newcastle!!!

Re: Dynamic Drive - Do You Use It?
My Mum ordered a new car in September and was told it might be in the country in January if you are lucky so you can probably expect to have it by the end of February!
but back on topic I have these various driving mode choices in other cars as well and never touch them, the most i ever do is knock the gear lever to the left for sport and that is only when overtaking or using manual going down a steep hill
