Maybe worth pointing out that In 2015, Scotland generated 59% of its electricity consumption through renewable sources and that Scotland has 85% of the UK's hydro-electric energy resource, much of it developed by the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board in the 1950s.
Although Scottish, I'm not a fan of the SNP.
It seems everyone is bashing us diesel car drivers these days. I'm all for cleaner air, but I feel a bit hard done by: I bought a diesel car because we were told they were better for the environment... until they weren't. I would like an electric version in the future (though no idea how I'm going to charge it as I don't have a driveway or much chance of parking anywhere near my house), but the models and infrastrucure wasn't there when I last bought. I'm concerned that when I go to trade in my current car in 3 years time I'll get next to nothing for it.
OK, I didnt buy a diesel car because we were told they were better for the environment, I bought one because the model that fitted my budget was a diesel - cos 9/10 of the range was diesel!
