Carly Coding - Wifi Adaptor

Post by Sit » Thu Oct 05, 2017 10:03 pm

Evening,

After reading a multitude of poss about people coding their cars using wifi adaptors and the Carly app it all sounds very simple and good value at around £35-£40, could someone confirm the below item is what I require to pair up with the Carly app?

Thanks Glen, I saw that one but then read a thread where people were linking to the other one, however it has to be said I want to make things as easy as possible and eliminate potential for errors so I am guessing the Carly adaptor with the Carly app would make more sense??

The first unit is a generic obd Adaptor and is known to be troublesome
The second link is the genuine adaptor, I believe their slightly cheaper on Amazon,

The adaptor itself allows the basic (Lite) package from Carly
Though pretty useless, allbeit I think it does allow fault code reading.

The Pro app (downloadable)is required for coding & parameter monitoring, there is in app purchases for battery coding & forced dpf regens

The adaptor is circa £50, the app is A N other £40 from App Store, useable on iPad and iPhone
The Carly adaptor is not tied to a specific car / chassis and can be used on multiple cars..

However, there is restrictions to coding as per your cars specifications, if the modules not there, there’s nothing that can be coded...

One of the main benefits is that all wrong doings can be reversed, prior to a coding session an image is made and stored on device (phone) , this allows easy reversal as the image is created per date stamp!

Very informative and just what I needed to know! Thank you for that, I think I will definitely go with the gen Carly adaptor in that case.

Will have a search on Amazon to see what price it is available.
