Electric boot

Post by Ricky » Sat Sep 23, 2017 2:35 am

Hi folks having problems with my electric boot, the strut? If that's what they call it :-[ is making a loud clicking noise, just the one on left. How easy are they to replace and where can I source one. Thanks

Stick your VIN (last 7 characters only) into the serial number box on Realoem to get the part number and see if anyone other than BMW can supply.

It shouldn’t be hard to do as it is only a screw jack (called a spindle drive) after all.  Calibration may be the only thing required?

Oh they need calibration! Was thinking it was a bolt on ready to go replacement part, oh well looks like another trip to the garage.
