Can you stop the music repeating the same album?
Can you stop the music repeating the same album?
During music playback (USB drive) when it gets to the end of an album it starts the same album over again, is it possible to set it so that it automatically moves onto the next album rather than repeating? I can't find anything in the handbook.
Re: Can you stop the music repeating the same album?
You can definately do it as I ran through every album stored on the hard drive after getting the car.
Cant remember if you have to select anything in particular but I dont think I did.
Can you not select all albums and start from there? It should then play through one after the other.
I regularly select a genre and it will play through everything in that list.

I thought I've been able to do it on previous iDrives but can't for the life of me figure it out on this one. Maybe it's because I'm playing music from the USB rather than the hard drive, but I'm sure I've been able to on previous iDrives like I said.
I'll have a look at selecting all albums and see how I get on. However, quite often I just want to play the albums from one artist rather than playing all albums. I'll see what I can figure out though.

Re: Can you stop the music repeating the same album?
I had another look and there is various ways of doing it but it will play everything in alphabetical order.
For instance if you select all albums and all artists it will start with songs starting with numbers before moving on to songs starting with the letter A.

Re: Can you stop the music repeating the same album?
Thanks for the reply. I've set up playlists now so will just stick with that, at least that way if I select and artist I can listen to all their albums without having to manually forward it onto the next one.

This has been my one BIG bugbear with my new X5........and it's the same if you play off the hard drive as well.
On my previous BMW 135i (a 2011) you just loaded up the hard drive from a USB, and then you hit play and it loop played the whole 800-900 tracks in album, track order by default.
I just can't work out how to do this (if you can) on the new iDrive. Its absurd if you can't
The other annoyance is it gets confused with the images, as it sometimes displays images from a track on a lot of unrelated other tracks that don't have an image associated with it.
I think tech for the sake of tech is not a good thing >:(

Yep artwork is hit and miss on mine as well. What's really weird is that it will display artwork for some songs and not from others from the same album

Re: Can you stop the music repeating the same album?
It's something to do with the image data as I get the same issue on the X6 and my Škoda Superb. No obvious reason as to why but some tracks are fine and others aren't. My music is all stored via iTunes if that makes any difference. No Android based systems.
Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
