Full BMW Service History?

Post by kgeddes » Wed Sep 13, 2017 7:50 pm

Had my 2012 3.0D in for service last week (71,000 miles on clock), bought as "approved used BMW" with 63,000 miles on clock 11 months ago....air filter described as being in a shocking state, full of flies etc....should this have been replaced during the "pre-sale preparation"?

Knowing BMW, probably not!  In too many cases the cars are sold without proper checks as the Dealer saves money by having the warranty insurance pay out for everything.  AUC issues come up on here time and again.

Most of the ones I've bought cars from have been a shower of s..t.  There have been a couple of exceptions that were very good.

On two occasions had to threaten small claims court before they did warranty work which should have been done pre-sale.

Thanks for replies. I really expected better from BMW dealers (how naive was I?). I'm going to send the photos to the franchise head office, to the branch and to BMW UK.....I'm sure none of them will be particularly interested and the bull*hit will start to flow!
You would get better standards from Arthur Daly Car Sales!  :o

Thanks mac1986, I've had experience of wearing down BMW and it's dealers! I had a cracked 'leather' seat issue and had to fight them endlessly to get it resolved (see previous post of this forum)...won in the end and it cost them over £1000 for a new seat base cover and foam!!!
I'll update the forum as the battle developes........I don't expect a positive result, but you never know!
