Winter wheels and tyres

Post by RBROWN » Wed Sep 13, 2017 8:24 pm

Hi

New to the forum - but used to BMWs with a 330d and 120d in the family.

Collecting new F25 X3 20d Sport next week for current wife.  I am a fan of winter tyres - so looking for suggestions on where to get 17 or 18 inch wheels from - happy for used ideally with TPMS.

I have bought from "Mrwinterwheels" before - so will be looking there if I cannot get a decent used set.

I am assuming that the 17 inch wheel will just look silly on the car?

Any recommendations appreciated!

Many thanks

Have a look at alloy wheels direct to see what the fitments/styles available are.  Then you'll know what to hunt for.

I think you will need to code the TPMS transponders to the car.

Realoem is another site to check - BMW parts database.

Hi

funnily enough I was just about to post to ask about winter wheels and tyres my self. Ive a set for my old 2007 x3.

Im thinking about a newer F25 35d. Ive just checked the realome website and I cant use the current wheels I have with a 35d but I didnt think I could.  Not sure if they would work with the 2.0 d.  They are the double spoke 112 pattern 8Jx17 ET:46 with 235/55 R17 99h tyres (Ill check this to be sure)

Looking at the realome for the F25 2.0d I think they do a 8Jx17 ET:43 for the F25 which is similar.

Ill make my mind up re the new car shortly, if I do and your ok with 17s then your welcome to try them on before I pop them on ebay:-)

Cheers

Andrew

Look for a used winter set on eBay from an older F25 , and have the TPMS sensors fitted. I paid £300 for a mint set, and £400 to dealer for supply and fit. A total of £700 and into my second winter.

You can also use the BMW wheel and tyre configurator to hget the reccomended OE wheel sizes and styles, and tyre makes and sizes, then look for the correct wheels and tyres cheaper elsewhere.........
