Electric steering wheel adjustment broken/not working, and ideas?

Post by Snerkler » Mon Sep 11, 2017 7:08 pm

Yesterday my steering wheel stopped moving back and forth, and unfortunately it's stuck in the fully retracted position meaning it's a bit of a stretch to reach when driving (i have my seat a long way back). It still moves up and down though. I was hoping it was going to cure itself overnight but alas it hasn't. Any ideas what the issue is and whether there's an easy fix, or is it a case of going back to the dealer?

never had that problem, as it's a recent purchase I'd pop it back to the dealer

When i got my x the adjustment didn't work at all.
Also the seat memory didn't work but when i changed the seat memory the wheel adjustment started to work correctly as well.

Thanks for the reply. When you say you changed the seat memory I assume that you mean the seat memory module and not just resetting the saved memory using the buttons on the side of the seat?

I was hoping it might just be a fuse or something but if it's linked to the seat movement it's going to be a dealership job as it's still under warranty.

OK thanks, will leave it to the dealership. Not sure if I have a difference one anyway as there's only the two seat number buttons and one memory set button.
