Post by Zedhed » Sat Sep 02, 2017 3:22 pm

Hi folks.been having a mess this morning again(with the car that is :P)and got this code now.so question is where should i be looking now.also im assuming thats why the 4x4 light is still on,and angle sensor(new one) will not calibrate.

Have you Coded the new steering angle sensor to the car ? If you look on YouTube or Google BMW steering angle sensor coding it shows you how using different software such as DIS and BMW scanner 1.4.0

The EBV code seems to be a spurious code thrown up by E53's  which in 2 years of looking I haven't seen anyone fix or even known what or where to look. Mine has it and plenty of people on here have it. It will NOT be the cause of your 4x4 light.

Unless its the other way around then, the 4x4 light causing the ebv code.

For those that know how to use their diagnostics and coding equipment and have the kit that will do it you could try this. If someone gets a result please let everyone know.

I am appreciated for your help. It worked for me.
I chose cheap fix. I recoded KOMBI with CAN_EBV: nicht_aktiv.
Now, faulty code is gone. However, I wonder that problem maybe cause by YAW or speed sensor. Cost for speed sensor's replacement is cheaper than YAW. So before replace YAW sensor, I need to make sure that speed sensors are in good condition.
